Celebrations on Independence Day attracted a great deal of fervour and enthusiasm for patriotism. Through a series of breathtaking dance, music, and poetry performances, students and staff of Kailash Bahl D.A.V. Sr. Secondary Public School, Sector 7-B, Chandigarh, demonstrated their pride in and patriotism for the nation.

The young students in Class I gave an introduction to the “significance of the day” to kick off the celebration. In addition, the young children in Class Nursery performed a charming action song called “Aye Maa Tujhe Salaam…” and then the KG kids danced to the tune of “Main Tujhe Nahi Chhuungi.” Pupils from Classes I and II performed heartfelt patriotic poems accompanied by piano melodies while dressed in the national colours of green, white, and saffron. The winning positions in the poem recitation competition went to Classes IA and II-D.

Students from Classes III to VII took part in the “Talent Hunt” competition, where they performed patriotic songs and dances while wearing tricolour costumes. Students from Classes VIII to X also competed in the essay writing competition with the theme “Har Ghar Tiranga.” They even shared tricolour meals that were in their tiffins. The fancy dress competition involved the youngest preschoolers.
