Air India Arrives Home With An Indian cricket Team After Landing In Barbados
The charter flight from New Jersey (USA) to Barbados was running late, which caused even more delay in the Indian cricket team’s return home. After defeating South Africa in the final on Saturday, Rohit Sharma’s team was scheduled to depart for India on Sunday, but they were compelled to stay in the island nation in order to win the T20 World Cup 2024.
Barbados faced a hurricane threat, thus the airport had to be closed and all flights had to be cancelled. There were several reports on Wednesday morning (India time) indicating that the Indian team’s departure from Barbados was delayed even more. It is expected that the players would arrive in Delhi early on Thursday. The flight, which was scheduled to return the Indian players home, left at 12:00 PM IST.
The players, who had been stranded in Barbados for three days due to the hurricane, were scheduled to board a Wednesday evening (local time) flight to Delhi, according to BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla’s announcement on Tuesday.
