In line with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s directives, Punjab Police has strengthened security measures across the state to ensure peaceful celebrations for Independence Day 2025.
Acting on instructions from Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, all Commissioners of Police (CPs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) have been directed to increase patrols, enhance security checks, and intensify night operations in their respective districts.
To maintain law and order and keep criminal and anti-social elements under watch, Punjab Police has launched a special fortnight-long campaign. According to Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla, during these two weeks, CPs and SSPs will regularly conduct a series of security operations.
These include anti-terror and anti-gangster drives, prison inspections, strategic checkpoints, and search operations in sensitive areas.Officials have also been instructed to keep a close eye on suspicious activities and individuals, ensuring immediate action in case of any security breach.
The intensified measures highlight Punjab Police’s commitment to safeguarding public safety during the national celebration, ensuring that citizens can mark Independence Day peacefully and without fear.
