    The Ambani’s wedding Magic

The most awaited wedding of the year in India concluded on Sunday following a glittering three days of festivities that included the prime minister of the nation visiting to bestow his blessing on the newlyweds. In a grandiose wedding in Mumbai, billionaire heir Anant Ambani tied the knot with his longtime partner Radhika Merchant in front of Kim and Khloé Kardashian, two former British prime ministers, Indian sports stars, and a number of Bollywood’s most well-known faces. On Saturday, the young couple and their families received well wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a blessing ceremony that took place after the wedding.

With an opulent reception known as “Mangal Utsav” (the “festival of bliss”) on Sunday, the weekend’s events came to a conclusion before guests took off from Mumbai.

The family behind Reliance Industries, the biggest private company in India, spared no cost. The corporation was started by Anant’s grandparents, and his father Mukesh, who is valued at over $122 billion by Forbes, is currently in charge of it. Throughout the weekend, wedding celebrations were held at the Ambani-owned 16,000-seat Jio World Convention Centre, which was converted into a scale model of the sacred Indian city of Varanasi. The venue featured elaborate sets adorned with gold and silver, as well as floral displays.

Ambani, meanwhile, showed up on the red carpet wearing trainers and a golden sherwani. He donned a huge green necklace around his neck and a unique red sherwani designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the marriage ceremony. Merchant wore a unique outfit made by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, who worked with modern artist and sculptor Jayasri Burman to produce a piece that was stitched with actual gold, for the blessings ceremony on Saturday.

Guests interpreted the Sunday reception’s “Indian chic” dress code by fusing traditional Indian attire with modern looks. Merchant paired an identically coloured skirt and dupatta by Indian designer Anamika Khanna with a gold metallic corset from Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda couture collection.

months in advance of organising The Ambanis hosted months of pre-wedding parties, so it’s unclear exactly how much they spent on the festivities, but industry estimates put the sum squarely in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Insiders collaborated with the family to create the elaborate elements, such as the stage designs and floral arrangements, for months in order to realise the couple’s ideal. Preston Bailey, a well-known wedding designer who has collaborated with LeBron James and Serena Williams, was asked to make extravagant floral arrangements for the weekend.

The couple’s passion for animals and Ambani’s recently established animal refuge, Vantara, in the western Indian city of Jamnagar, served as the inspiration for Bailey’s designs. In addition to a massive display of hot air balloons, his sculptures featured over sixty floral animals, such as giraffes, two enormous toucans, monkeys perched on site trees, and a massive horse constructed out of red and pink flowers.
