In a major breakthrough against cross-border crime, Amritsar Punjab Police, working closely with central agencies, have busted a sophisticated smuggling network backed by Pakistan’s ISI. Acting on specific intelligence, police arrested five individuals central to the racket.
The operation led to the recovery of an AK Saiga 308 assault rifle with two magazines, two Glock 9mm pistols with four magazines, 90 live AK rounds, 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition, ₹7.5 lakh in suspected drug proceeds, a car, and three mobile phones.Initial investigations suggest the arrested accused were coordinating directly with ISI handlers in Pakistan.
The seized consignment was reportedly meant for Nav Pandori, an associate of notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, highlighting a dangerous terror-gangster nexus.Officials reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling such networks and protecting Punjab from organized crime and terrorism, ensuring safety and harmony across the state.
